After a day struggle, could get my Thinkpad up and running with win XP.
After the struggle, found out the following three easy steps, will make life easy while installing xp on T61
1. Get an ethernet driver from the lenovo support site and install it
2. Now install dotnetfw 2.0
3. Now get SystemUpdate applications from the lenovo support site. After installing this application, u can just run that. It will show u the list of drivers needed for t61. You can just select all the must drivers packages and click on Dowbload, That will take care of the rest of the things.
